Man Jumps from Space to earth Felix Baumgartner jumping out of a balloon 128,100ft
Austrian Felix Baumgartner has become the first skydiver to go faster than the speed of sound, reaching a maximum velocity of 833.9mph (1,342km/h). In jumping out of a balloon 128,100ft (24 miles; 39km) above New Mexico, the 43-year-old also smashed the record for the highest ever freefall. He said he almost aborted the dive because his helmet visor fogged up. It took just under 10 minutes for him to descend. Only the last few thousand feet were negotiated by parachute. Once down, he fell to his knees and raised his fists in triumph. Helicopter recovery teams were on hand moments later. "Let me tell you - when I was standing there on top of the world, you become so humble. You don't think about breaking records anymore, you don't think about gaining scientific data - the only thing that you want is to come back alive," he said afterwards at a media conference. None of the new marks set by Baumgartner can be classed as "official" until endorsed by the Federation Aeronautique Internationale (FAI). Its representative was the first to greet the skydiver on the ground. GPS data recorded on to a microcard in the Austrian's chest pack will form the basis for the height and speed claims that are made. He was supposed to get himself into a delta position - head down, arms swept back - as soon as possible after leaving his capsule. But the video showed him tumbling over and over. Eventually, however, he was able to use his great experience, from more than 2,500 career dives, to correct his fall and get into a stable configuration. Even before this drama, it was thought the mission might have to be called off. As he went through last-minute checks inside the capsule, it was found that a heater for his visor was not working. This meant the visor fogged up as he exhaled. "This is very serious, Joe," he told retired US Air Force Col Joe Kittinger, whose records he was attempting to break, and who was acting as his radio link in mission control at Roswell airport. The team took a calculated risk to proceed after understanding why the problem existed. Kittinger set his marks for the highest, farthest, and longest freefall when he leapt from a helium envelope in 1960. His altitude was 102,800ft (31km). (His record for the longest freefall remains intact - he fell for more than four and a half minutes before deploying his chute; Baumgartner was in freefall for four minutes and 20 seconds). Kittinger, now an octogenarian, has been an integral part of Baumgartner's team, and has provided the Austrian with advice and encouragement whenever the younger man has doubted his ability to complete such a daring venture. "Felix did a great job and it was a great honour to work with this brave guy," the elder man said. The 43-year-old adventurer - best known for leaping off skyscrapers - first discussed seriously the possibility of beating Kittinger's records in 2005. Since then, he has had to battle technical and budgetary challenges to make it happen. The Austrian first began to discuss seriously the idea of a record breaking jump in 2005 What he was proposing was extremely dangerous, even for a man used to those skyscraper stunts. At Sunday's jump altitude, the air pressure is less than 2% of what it is at sea level, and it is impossible to breathe without an oxygen supply. Others who have tried to break the records have lost their lives in the process. Baumgartner's team built him a special pressurised capsule to protect him on the way up, and for his descent he wore a next generation, full pressure suit made by the same company that prepares the flight suits of astronauts. Although the jump had the appearance of another Baumgartner stunt, his team stressed its high scientific relevance. The researchers on the Red Bull Stratos project say it has already provided invaluable data for the development of high-performance, high-altitude parachute systems, and that the lessons learned will inform the development of new ideas for emergency evacuation from vehicles, such as spacecraft, passing through the stratosphere. Nasa and its spacecraft manufacturers have asked to be kept informed. Kittinger (L) was the only person Baumgartner wanted to hear on the radio during the mission "Part of this programme was to show high-altitude egress, passing through Mach and a successful re-entry back [to subsonic speed], because our belief scientifically is that's going to benefit future private space programmes or high-altitude pilots; and Felix proved that today," said Art Thompson, the team principal. In getting to 128,100ft, Baumgartner exceeded the altitude for the highest ever manned balloon flight achieved by Victor Prather and Malcolm Ross, who ascended to 113,720ft (35km) in 1961. However, the FAI rules, state that to claim an official ballooning record, a balloonist must also bring the envelope down and therefore the Austrian's altitude will forever remain just an unofficial mark. A BBC/National Geographic documentary is being made about the project. This will probably air first in the UK and in the US in November, and in other territories sometime soon after.

World Sound System Music Festival postponed
The organisers of the inaugural World Sound System Music Festival, originally scheduled for October 13 and 14, 2012, at the Constant Spring Golf Club, have announced that the event has been postponed.
The two-day musical feast intended to showcase 16 of the top sound systems from across the globe, and included overseas sounds such as Shashamane Internati
onal (Africa), Downbeat The Ruler (NY),One Love (Italy), Saxon High Power (UK) and King Turbo (Canada). The brainchild of internationally acclaimed singer, Freddie McGregor, whose Big Ship Productions was at the helm of the production. It was with much regret that Freddie announced the postponement of the event.
"We all wanted this event to be a reality for this year and we really did our best to get things moving. We had commitments from sponsors for which we are grateful, but, unfortunately we had difficulties with getting the necessary work permits in time for the event. Therefore, we had to take the painful decision to postpone the festival until next year," Freddie explained.
According to producer, Ricky Chin of Ricardo Chin Production Services (RCPS), the two-day festival was of such magnitude that there was absolutely no way that they could have scaled down without compromising the production.
"The World Sound System Music Festival is no ordinary event. We are talking about sixteen of the highest ranking sound systems drawn from the four corners of the earth housed in one venue, which we plan to transform into the wickedest dancehall anywhere on Planet Earth. We expect the entire Jamaica and music fans from across the world to be part of this history-making event,and because of that we just could not afford to compromise anything production-wise. We are hoping that the World Sound System Music Festival will put Kingston on the map as the entertainment capital of Jamaica," Chin declared.
The festival is now scheduled for 2013, and according to Freddie, he and his team will be working assiduously to stage a magnificent event that truly pays tribute to the important role the sound system has played in the development of Jamaica's music.
“The sound system is where it all started and the World Sound System Music Festival is acknowledging and paying tribute to the ‘sound’. We owe a great debt of gratitude to persons like the great Count Machuki, Sir Coxsone Dodd, Duke Reid and all the early pioneers whose vision and ingenuity have made all of what is happening with our music possible. And, as Jamaicans, we need to come out and celebrate our rich musical heritage. The youngsters will learn a lot about our music and those with experience will get a chance to relive those glorious days,” stated the award-winning singer and producer, who has built a solid foundation through his Big Ship Productions label.
The captain of the Big Ship, while noting that the theme of the event will remain the same: ‘The Lights and Sounds of Jamaica’, apologised to the sound system owners, the selectors and all those who were looking forward to the event.

Nicki beef with Rihanna
Did you know that Nicki Minaj and Rihanna had beef? Neither did I! If you were watching the VMAs the other night, you saw Rihanna getting lots of face time from the cameraman. But what you didn’t see was Nicki throwing shade at RiRi, this according to former Real World cast member Trishelle Cannatella who took to Twitter to reveal Rihanna was snubbed after attempting to give the Barbie rapper a congratulatory hug before accepting her moon man.

Vybz Kartel Want Tommy Lee Out of the GAZA Camp......
There may be some trouble brewing in the Gaza once again. This
time the controversy apparently surrounds the embattled figure of Vybz Kartel and the red hot artiste Tommy Lee who has rocketed to fame in recent months as Kartel's most trusted protege.
The two have always been said to be pretty close but reports are that their association has hit a major speed bump.
A text which was said to have been sent through Vanessa 'Gaza Slim' Saddler to journalist Anthony Miller of the popular entertainment programme, ER, is said to be a clear indicator of the issues between the two.
The text is reported to have questioned the loyalty of the remaining members of his clique, an interesting development given the fact that Kartel himself disbanded the Portmore Empire over two months ago.
"No animosity but within a week of my arrest, they started giving other people managerial and booking positions. But where were these people when I was building their careers? When I was investing time and money to transform them from nobody to somebody? They are opportunists and fake," the text stated
It went on to state that: "The only two loyal people are Slim and Sheba (the girls)".
Information reach THE WEEKEND STAR is that Tommy Lee was interviewed by Anthony Miller regarding the text which would appear to question his loyalty. It is understood that the deejay however made it clear that he will not be leaving the Gaza anytime soon, no matter what was stated about his loyalty.
"Mi born Gaza, mi live Gaza and mi ah go die Gaza," he reportedly said during the taped interview which is expected to be aired tonight on TVJ.

ZeekRewards Handed Over To Receiver; What's Next For Investors?
The fallout from the shutdown of an alleged $600 million online Ponzi scheme continues this week as the fate of investors’ money is now in the hands of a court-appointed receiver.
A U.S. district judge appointed a Charlotte, North Carolina lawyer Kenneth Bell as temporary receiver for Rex Venture Group and ZeekRewards.com.
As the receiver Bell assumes control of the operation and will work to recover and preserve any assets tied to the company. Once that process (which Bell says is a lengthy one) is complete he will then determine who will get funds back.
Here’s how the ZeekRewards receivership process will work:
- Kenneth Bell obtains control over the assets and records of the company, as the Receiver.
- The receiver will put people and procedures in place to preserve assets and analyze the claims.
- The receiver will then tell a judge what he thinks should be done with the assets he’s recovered.
- His proposal will be made public and all affected persons will have a chance to object.
- The judge will review the proposal and objections and make a decision about the assets from there.
ZeekRewards members who believe they are owed money will have to sit tight for now because there is currently no claims or distribution process. The receiver says he’s first working to gather information about ZeekRewards investment history and other information from the company and its founder Paul Burks.
ZeekRewards.com was shut down by the SEC on Friday on charges of fraud and because it was a Ponzi scheme on the verge of collapse, the regulator said.
The SEC says online marketer Paul Burks and his company raised more than $600 million from more than one million online customers through the website ZeekRewards.com since January 2011. Investors were promised up to 50% of the company’s daily net profits through a profit sharing system in which they accumulate rewards points that they can use for cash payouts, according to the agency.
“However, the website fraudulently conveyed the false impression that the company was extremely profitable when, in fact, the payouts to investors bore no relation to the company’s net profits. Most of ZeekRewards’ total revenues and the “net profits” paid to investors have been comprised of funds received from new investors in classic Ponzi scheme fashion,” the SEC claims.
The website was on the verge of collapse, according to the SEC, which added that last month ZeekRewards brought in approximately $162 million while total investor cash payouts were approximately $160 million.
But there seem to be plenty of ZeekRewards affiliates who are trying to fight back against the Ponzi claims. Close to 13,000 people have signed a petition to keep ZeekRewards alive saying they are “devastated” by the shutdown and that they are “behind Paul Burks, Rex Venture Group, Zeekler/Zeek Rewards and it’s affiliates 100%.”
“In no way that this company defrauded anyone. We believe that Zeekler/Zeek Rewards has given us the leadership and the freedom to support our families,”the petition reads.
Meanwhile, while ZeekRewards affiliates wait to find out the fate of their money, websites similar to ZeekRewards are marketing to them. Vitelpower.com for instance commented on an earlier story about the shutdown and offered ZeekRewards affiliates a chance to be “grandfathered into an equivalent position with our company.” The website claims to be the “Zeek rescue program.”
A message left for the VitelRewards commenter mentioned above has yet to be returned.

These scams have been popular for years with telemarketing fraud rings but can also follow other types of fraud…Blogs, news releases online, and individuals leaving comments in articles about the Zeekler shut down are already touting opportunities “for those that are looking for something that can help them replace the income they were receiving from Zeek Rewards.” If you’ve been a part of a scheme such as Zeekler that collapsed, or if you lost money to another recent scam, don’t fall for a reload scam.

Rodney King dead - After drinking and smoking he drowned
Rodney King's fiancée is telling friends Rodney had been drinking all day Saturday ... and had smoked weed in the hours leading up to his death ... sources close to King tell .
According to our sources, King's fiancée, Cynthia Kelley, is telling friends King was at the house all day drinking, and he smoked marijuana at some point, before she went to bed at 2:00 AM.
We're told Kelley says she next saw King at around 5:00 AM when she was awoken by him screaming in the backyard. Our sources say Kelley found King naked, banging on the glass, and she called out to him, "What's wrong, Rodney?"
Kelley is telling friends she then went to grab her phone when she heard a big splash. She then went to the backyard and discovered him in the bottom of the pool and called police.
Paramedics attempted to revive King, but were unsuccessful.

Busy Signal Statement:
In this a time of reflection, I would like to thank my fans who have supported me through this difficult situation and who will continue to support me. Your messages and prayers via social networks and via members of my team are what have brought light to the darkness of my cell. I have never admitted that I was involved in any drug deal or drug arrangement. I waived my rights to an extradition trial here in Jamaica, so that I can return to the US to face a charge of absconding bail ONLY. This incident took place ten (10) years ago before I even considered becoming an artiste. As you can understand, this is a difficult time for me, however during my time away, my fans will not be left with a void – there are several unreleased tracks that will definitely keep you “busy” until my return. I recently released my album Reggae Music Again, which debuted at number 5 on the Billboard Reggae charts. On my recent tour of Amsterdam and Paris, we shot elements for the video to the title track of the album. It features cameos from Marcia Griffiths, Queen Ifrica and Anthony B and that will be released in a couple of weeks. For my fans overseas, my management team has been in dialogue with promoters who have all shown their support for me and my situation and for that I thank them. For my family, you have stood by me through thick and thin and I know you will continue to do so. In my time away, I have made the necessary arrangements with my management team to have you taken care of until my return. To my band. Reanno Gordon, better known by his stage name Busy Signal, is an artist from St Ann,Jamaica He has also lived in Tivoli Gardens, Papine, Spanish Town and other areas in West and East Kingston Jamaica and is a past student of Brown's Town Comprehensive High School. Known as one of the artists leading the contemporary Dancehall movement, Busy Signal has been a large part of the scene since 2003. His first hit single, "Step Out", was one of the most popular dancehall songs in 2005. A music video of Step Out was released shortly afterwards.He is currently engaged to a St.lucian,Annisha.They are expecting their daughter who is to be born in june.
He was nicknamed Busy Signal by his friends because of the fact that he is constantly busy. His hit tracks for 2007/2008 were "Nah Go A Jail Again", "Smoke Some High Grade", "Tic Toc" and the track entitled "Unknown Number" has made tremendous airplay and dancehall reviews especially in the Caribbean and the U.S. He has released a hit dancehall album entitled Step Out..
On September 22, 2008, Busy Signal released his second studio album titled Loaded a 15 track compilation of Vp Records of well known dancehall hits such as "Jail," "Whine Pon Di Edge," "These Are the Days," among others, as well as never-heard-before exclusive tracks such as "People So Evil" and "Hustle Hard."
The artist announced the introduction of a self-styled clothing line in 2011.
On May 21, 2012, Busy Signal was arrested at the Norman Manley International Airport in Jamaica due to an an extradition Warrant from the U.S.
